Buying guide for bumGenius cloth diapers

If you need help checking out the pros and cons of buying the different styles of bumGenuis cloth diapers, this guide is for you!

These are my personal thoughts on diapering with these diapers...keep in mind that different diapers work differently on different kids with different parents and different wash routines.

*bumGenius One Size 3.0 (also called a BGOS in the cloth diapering world)
Pros:  Super easy to put on the baby.  Supposed "birth to potty training" sizing lasts through several sizes.  Great fit on different shaped/sized babies.  The inners are suedecloth and wick the moisture away from the baby so he/she's not sitting in wetness.  My favorite diapers.
Cons:  The velcro curls and pills quickly and needs replaced usually within a year of purchasing.  Older diapers need the elastic replaced as well.  Microfiber inserts tend to get stinky and need to be stripped.  They are supposed to last from birth to potty training but they are a bit big on a NB and some users find they become too small for toddlers.

*bumGenius Flip with organic insert
Pros:  Another "one size" diaper...lasts through several sizes.  The organic insert is extremely absorbant.  The stay dry inserts are topped with stay dry material to wick the moisture away from the baby.  The covers can be used several times or all day if not soiled, just replace the insert.  You can use prefolds in place of the inserts they come with.
Cons:  I find it hard to get a good fit with these because of the snaps.  The organic insert does not have a stay dry layer to keep the baby's butt dry.  The stay dry insert is microfiber and may become stinky after a while.  Some users are complaining of the elastic in the legs being ruined within one or two washes but the company DOES replace them.  They are supposed to last from birth to potty training but they are a bit big on a NB and some users find they become too small for toddlers.

*bumGenius Organic One Size diaper-
Pros:  Snaps, so the baby can't undo them as opposed to if they were velcro.  The organic cotton is super absorbant.  They will fit a wide range of babies. All natural materials against your baby's skin.  No stuffing of pockets, it's all one piece.
Cons:  They are supposed to last from birth to potty training but they are a bit big on a NB and some users find they become too small for toddlers.  There is no stay dry layer to wick moisture away from the baby.  They take slightly longer to dry than a BGOS.  I find it hard to get a good fit as opposed to the velcro.

*bumGenius all in one (BG AIO)
Pros:  No pockets to stuff, it's all one piece.  Velcro allows a perfect fit on your little one.  The inner is stay-dry to keep the baby's bum dry.
Cons:  The velro curls and pills quickly.  They are sized (small, medium, large) so you have to buy a bigger size when the baby outgrows them.  They take slightly longer to dry.  You can't add absorbancy in the diaper if it's not absorbant enough for a heavy wetter.
